The Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling, also known as RCG is a 1 day course delivered by BarMax in a classroom (face to face) format on behalf Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW).
This course is for all new hoteliers, secretary managers and gaming-related staff in order to satisfy the requirements of the Liquor & Gaming Regulations of NSW.
By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge and skills required to:
• identify, approach, and assist patrons who are showing signs of problematic gambling behaviour.
• refer patrons who are experiencing problems with gambling to appropriate support services (including self-exclusion).
• understand and effectively apply key conflict resolution strategies when dealing with patrons who are showing anger or aggression.
• advise and support venue staff in non-specialist roles to identify and report warning signs of problematic gambling behaviour.
• lead and support a culture of responsible gambling and proactive gambling harm minimisation in your venue.

Pre-requisites- NOTE: If Stage 1 and 2 are not completed before course, entry will be refused.
Following payment you will receive instructions with regards to completing tasks within our online platform along with a quality assurance check of your device (Laptop/Desktop with webcam) and your ability to use Zoom video conferencing platform. This must be completed no later than 48 hours before course.
Stage 1 – MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 48 -72 HOURS OF PAYMENT
Completion of enrolment, submission of photo id, review of course information , structure of the day and an agreement to our Virtual Classroom Code of Conduct.
Stage 2 – MUST BE COMPLETED 48 HOURS BEFORE COURSE COMMENCES
Involves a ‘Systems check’ of your equipment (Computer/Laptop and Webcam) to ensure we minimise any problems on the morning of the course. Course Info
The Responsible Conduct of Gambling virtual classroom course will be completed using 2 platforms (Learning Management Systems) concurrently where the enrolment, payment and identity validation are completed using the BarMax virtual classroom platform and trainer led real-time student interaction from the beginning of the course to the end of the course using the Zoom real-time platform.
Important Notes
- Must complete the pre-registration requirements.
- Students completing this course must have a strong internet connection with the ability to remain online all day.
- For the assessment section, our course remembers where you are up to and the trainer will also be able to monitor your progress! You must answer all questions correctly.

Effective 1st July, 2024 Venues (hotels and clubs) with 21 or more gaming machines are required to have a Responsible Gambling Officer (RGO) on duty at all times when gaming machines are in operation. The RGO must have completed the ARCG course by that date.
This course is for all hoteliers, secretary managers and senior gaming-related staff in order to satisfy the requirements of the Liquor & Gaming Regulations of NSW.

Stage 2 – MUST BE COMPLETED 48 HOURS BEFORE COURSE COMMENCES
Involves a ‘Systems check’ of your equipment (Computer/Laptop and Webcam) to ensure we minimise any problems on the morning of the course. An appointment is made for this as part of stage 1 and involves a 5-10 minute Zoom call to check you have reliable and stable internet. See below for more information re Computer Equipment.

Course Info
The Responsible Conduct of Gambling virtual classroom course will be completed using 2 platforms (Learning Management Systems) concurrently where the enrolment, payment and identity validation are completed using the BarMax virtual classroom platform and trainer led real-time student interaction from the beginning of the course to the end of the course using the Zoom real-time platform.
Important Notes
- Must complete the pre-registration requirements.
- Students completing this course must have a strong internet connection with the ability to remain online all day.

The Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling, also known as ARCG is a 1 day course delivered by BarMax in a Virtual environment (online) format on behalf Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW). Effective 1st July, 2024 Venues (hotels and clubs) with 21 or more gaming machines are required to have a Responsible Gambling Officer (RGO) on duty at all times when gaming machines are in operation. The RGO must have completed the ARCG course by that date.
This course is for all hoteliers, secretary managers and senior gaming-related staff in order to satisfy the requirements of the Liquor & Gaming Regulations of NSW.
By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge and skills required to:
• identify, approach, and assist patrons who are showing signs of ‘at-risk gambling harm’.
• refer patrons who are experiencing ‘at-risk gambling behaviour’ to appropriate support services (including self-exclusion).
• understand and effectively apply key conflict resolution strategies when dealing with patrons who are showing anger or aggression.
• advise and support venue staff in non-specialist roles to identify and report warning signs of ‘at-risk gambling behaviour’.
• lead and support a culture of responsible gambling and proactive gambling harm minimisation in your venue

Pre-requisites- NOTE: If Stage 1 and 2 are not completed before course, entry will be refused.
Following payment you will receive instructions with regards to completing tasks within our online platform along with a quality assurance check of your device (Laptop/Desktop with webcam) and your ability to use Zoom video conferencing platform. This must be completed no later than 48 hours before course.
Stage 1 – MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 48 -72 HOURS OF PAYMENT
Completion of enrolment, submission of photo id, review of course information , structure of the day and an agreement to our Virtual Classroom Code of Conduct.
Stage 2 – MUST BE COMPLETED 48 HOURS BEFORE COURSE COMMENCES
Involves a ‘Systems check’ of your equipment (Computer/Laptop and Webcam) to ensure we minimise any problems on the morning of the course. An appointment is made for this as part of stage 1 and involves a 5-10 minute Zoom call to check you have reliable and stable internet. See below for more information re Computer Equipment.
Your seat is confirmed once Stage 1 and 2 have been completed.
Course Info
The Responsible Conduct of Gambling virtual classroom course will be completed using 2 platforms (Learning Management Systems) concurrently where the enrolment, payment and identity validation are completed using the BarMax virtual classroom platform and trainer led real-time student interaction from the beginning of the course to the end of the course using the Zoom real-time platform.
Important Notes
- Must complete the pre-registration requirements.
- Students completing this course must have a strong internet connection with the ability to remain online all day.
- For the assessment section, our course remembers where you are up to and the trainer will also be able to monitor your progress! You must answer all questions correctly.
- You will be provided all the resources you need to complete this course.
