Preparation for your practical verbal assessment (role play)

Barmax have compiled short videos to assist in preparing you for your role play assessment of your Verbal Communication Skills with the trainer.

These 1-minute videos are a guide to the types of responses your assessor will be looking for, so it is important to review each video.

Introduction Video

TASK 1

Demonstrate procedure to refuse sale or service of alcohol and assist each of the following groups of intoxicated customers…..

  1. Video A – those in emotional or physical distress (Upset / Crying / Anger)
  2. Video B – those with no food consumption during extended (long) service of alcohol
    (e.g. a non-dining situation)
  3. Video C – those who appear to be under the effect of illicit substances or other drugs
    (e.g. cannabis, cocaine Ice)

TASK 2

Demonstrate organisational or house requirements and use effective communication and conflict-resolution skills when asking the following different intoxicated customers to leave the premises

  1. Video D – one compliant customer
    (Accepts your decision to leave, does not want to cause trouble and wants to come back again)
  2. Video E – one difficult customer refusing to leave the venue (does not accept your decision and refuses to eave)

Online/Video

Log back into your course at www.barmaxonline.com.au

  1. Go to Practical assessment section in the menu
  2. Once opened up, the next question should appear
  3. To record a video you will need to ‘Join Online classroom’ and record your video.
    If you cannot join , record a video and upload.
  4. Once this has been completed you can move on to the next scenario.
